It is actually easier to split Port Douglas and far north Queensland into two distinct weather seasons, the first being dry and the second being the wet season. The dry months occur between the months of April through to December which presents gorgeous weather, blue skies and temperature of around 19 – 24 degrees, making your holiday a very enjoyable one. The wet season starts in December and then carries on through to the following April and if you are travelling here between these months you can expect slightly higher temperature of around 23 – 30 degrees with the humidity being at a higher rate. As the name suggest, wet season, storms and downfalls are more apparent, but with this comes awesome lightning shows that are sure to amaze. But all in all Port Douglas is a destination that has so much to offer in the way of entertainment, beaches, accommodation, shopping, dining, diving, snorkelling, rainforests, National Parks, nearby cities and other main attractions such as Cooktown, Cape Tribulation and the famous Daintree Rainforest, you are sure to get the best out of your holiday here.
